Harmony Nature House

A Residential Haven Embracing Nature and Harmony

The Harmony Nature House is a stunning residential project designed by David Lok and Renee Cheung, known for their expertise in creating unique and environmentally-friendly spaces. Inspired by the owners' love for music and photography, this house combines traditional materials with modern design elements to create a warm and harmonious home.

What sets the Harmony Nature House apart is its use of old solid wood from Thailand and Canada as the main material. This choice not only adds a touch of elegance and authenticity to the design but also reflects the owners' commitment to quality and sustainability. To ensure the highest standards, the designers collaborated with skilled craftsmen to handle these materials, resulting in a truly exceptional outcome.

Environmental consciousness is at the core of this design. The house incorporates various eco-friendly features such as solar panels, skylight windows, double-glazed windows and doors, insulation materials, and an underfloor heating system. These elements not only contribute to energy efficiency but also create a balanced indoor temperature, allowing the residents to enjoy a comfortable and eco-conscious lifestyle.

Spanning a total area of 995 square meters, the Harmony Nature House offers ample space for both indoor and outdoor activities. The ceiling height ranges from 2.5 meters to 5.5 meters, creating a sense of openness and grandeur. The outdoor space includes a swimming pool with an outdoor jacuzzi, providing a perfect spot for relaxation and enjoyment.

The design of the Harmony Nature House revolves around the concept of leisurely family gatherings. A DJ booth and wine cellar have been incorporated to cater to the owners' love for music and fine wines. Additionally, the house features two steam rooms, allowing the owners to unwind and relax with their friends. The seamless integration of these spaces creates a harmonious atmosphere, where every family member's desires are fulfilled.

Located in Hong Kong, the Harmony Nature House project commenced in October 2008 and was completed in November 2010. Throughout the design process, the team faced challenges in sourcing and reinforcing the solid wood used in the house. However, their dedication and expertise ensured the successful completion of this high-quality project.

The Harmony Nature House has been recognized for its outstanding design and functionality. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2017 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges the project's innovative and practical approach, as well as its contribution to a better world.

With its seamless blend of nature, harmony, and eco-friendliness, the Harmony Nature House stands as a testament to the creativity and vision of David Lok and Renee Cheung. It is a true masterpiece that offers a unique and inspiring living experience.
